I had a Sony PRS650 and a Kobo Touch, both their screens were totally smooth to touch.
I presently have a KPW, Kobo Glo and Kobo Aura HD. All of their screens have a slightly rough texture...I am not sure if that is due to the frontlight technology used by these ereader...I like that texture and it does not have any negative impact on the usability or responsiveness of the KPW/Glo/Aura
