Maybe try Jeff Noon? He's more cyberpunk, but I understand he is very "out there". I have no experience with him, but he's one of the authors I have on my must-read-before-I-die list which includes PKD, Stanislaw Lem and quite a few others mind-expanding sci-fi writers.
