problem e-mailing to Kindle

When I first started using Calibre, I set it up to e-mail newspapers, etc., to my Kindle. That worked well, but after a month or 2 it quit doing that. Now each day I get the message that the e-mail failed. This is the latest result:
Starting job: Email New York Times to dbommer@kindle.com

Sending failed...

IOError: Failed to send mail: SMTPServerDisconnected('Connection unexpectedly closed',)

Anyone able to help me. I'm computer literate but far from skilled.
