I was just reading yesterday that when Colleen Hoover published Slammed she lived in a trailer and was working a 9 dollar an hour job trying to support her kids. She couldn't afford a good cover for her book so she went with a free one. Now she is a mainstream published author and well on her way. I love stories like that!
