The KOBO hardware is really nice. The firmware though is of questionable quality. Have a look at some threads here and decide whether you are willing tolerate the bugs and ergonomic inconveniences mentioned. Depending on the way you want to use the device and the functions/features that are important to you, you might be completely happy with a KOBO or you might end up being constantly annoyed by some issues.

One caveat: Do not buy a KOBO expecting that any bug will get fixed in the near future. They have a tradition not to release bug fixes but rather new firmware versions sporting a combination of (some) bug fixes with new features and new (and some old, re-appearing) bugs.
