I recently had a crash and my iPod got reinitialized

I managed to re-install most of my apps, but I have a problem loading my EPUB into i-Books !
I have (had!) more than 800 books stored and I would like to reload them... but I don't understand HOW to proceed !
Could someone explain slowly, thoroughly and step by step (
) how to do that !
