I'm a concerned about Kobo's privacy policy.

Kobo boss Michael Serbinis:
So we collect data to enable you to have an experience over multiple devices. Capture your page turns, the page that you're on and that gives us other information like how fast you're reading. It tells us whether you bought a book and you'll loved it because you've finished it all in one sitting in a few hours. And that allows us to give much better recommendations what you might next from the same author or whether we should recommend a different author or genre for you.

At first that sounds half-innocent but it's none of their business what I read, how long I read and so on.
So is Kobo spying upon the user? Can I disable these privacy violations?
