I ran the test the hardware program MS offered, and it said I should upgrade the computer before getting Win 7. That was some time ago when my wife got her new machine.

I still use XP and it is fine. Granted some websites have gotten so big that they are painfully slow on my machine, and I usually don't look at them anymore.
