Hi, welcome to Mobile Reads, I had a subscription briefly last year on my Kobo Vox, and have been wondering what one would look like on my Glo. So I got the two week free trial to the Toronto Star and downloaded today's copy to see. I don't think this will do what you want. First, there's no way that I can see to access back issues, either in whole or part. I also can't find anyway to search within an issue, or in multiple issues. Finally, since you asked specifically, I looked for comics and classifieds, and could not find either. I attached some screen shots, it appears that it gives a list of sections, then a list of articles within that section
Picture 1 - List of sections
Picture 2 - List of articles
Picture 3 - Article itself
From the list of articles, one can go to previous or next section, from the article itself one can go to previous or next article, or back to the articles section. Basically, like kobokobe mentioned, you just get articles, nothing more.
I think from what you've said you'd be much better served with an android tablet such as the Nexus 7 or Kobo Arc. There are apps that give you full colour, exact page reproductions of newspapers. (Globe and Mail here in Canada has a good one, and I've heard good things about Zinio)
