I wouldn't get an e-reader without front-lighting technology at this stage; not only do I use it in the dark, but I even use it in well-lit situations to make the screen appear just that little bit whiter. The light, in my personal opinion, is an absolutely essential feature - now if only it also came with expandable storage!
