The point is that I want to see the mobi version, not the epub version, and converting to epub, viewing the epub and then deleting the epub again is more work than just viewing the original mobi, so I'll rather let calibre do the converting silently in the background.

It was the very long conversion time I was worried about. 40 seconds sounds like a very long conversion time, compared to about 10 seconds at similar books. Could this mean that there is an error in my mobi book that calibre is doing its best to "guess" a solution to, or is 40 seconds conversion time within reasonable limits?
