The same is true of any front-lit e-reader, but it is questionable just how dark the light guide layer makes the screen in a direct comparison between a Kobo Glo and a Kobo Touch, or the Kindle Paperwhite and a Kindle Touch. And will very likely be the exact same if you were to compare the next Sony reader (if it has a light) and the T2.
