Calibre's "Get books" feature is far superior. With Advanced Search, you can set a price of "0", and you'll find every free version of a particular book or author that's available. I disagree with your assessment of both being "worthless."

Here's why I disagree with you: If one has calibre, then downloading from Amazon and shifting to another format is the work of but a moment. After all, once you've "done the heavy work of clicking," (as you state), you're now only a couple of steps away from reading what you've acquired.
