This serve is located somewhere in Canada. Canada has its own set of laws concerning Copyrights which differs from its powerful Southern neighbor.
From the
Wiki FAQ:
"Copyright length in the US is a lot more complicated than elsewhere. Roughly, if published before 1923 it's in the public domain. If published between 1923 and 1963 inclusive, it might be in the public domain. If published during or after 1964 it is not in public domain. No more works will enter the public domain in the US until 1st January 2019.
http://www.copyright.cornell.edu/res...blicdomain.cfm gives more details.
Copyright in Canada is currently lifetime+50 years; Copyright elsewhere is mostly lifetime+70 years.
IANAL, however, Canada has sets of laws to protect its "culture", through an agency called the CRTC:
http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/home-accueil.htm .
Any attempt to seize Canadian cultural based-IP would require an approval for that board. MR hosts and allows uploads of people's work, in the E-book Upload Section. As such, any attempt to access or seize MR IP would properly require the CRTC approval, in my opinion.
