Thanks, Walt for your advice. As expected, this was totally user error.
#1; I had updated my AprenticeAlf, et al plugin bundle and had
not customized my Barnes and Noble info inside the new version and
#2; I had not converted the Kindle book to epub prior to attempting to read via Moonreader.
As they say, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing and I am continually in over my head with Calibre. But I'm having fun learning how to stay afloat.
