Personally, I'm a cynic: I tend to think that we all assume other people are just like us, with the same motivations and behavior. So when I hear folks claiming that other people are thieving knaves, I hear an unstated "because it's what I'd do..." corollary.
Incidentally, Jeff doesn't have IMP versions of the books yet. Care to take a shot?

heh, i didn't see this before. well, you may be right in your cynicism. i tend to be that rarest of beasts, a naïvely optimistic cynic (don't ask). i still think this whole phenomenon is a brilliant example of how ebook publishing could and should work, and it makes me proud every time i read this thread.
as for the imp version, to be honest i have so many projects going on right now that i hesitate to say yes because god knows when i'd get around to it.
however, may i point you in the direction of nrapallo (nick)'s truly amazing tool, mobi2imp (or lit2imp, or any of a variety of flavors), which includes a GUI interface and will convert whatever file you have into .imp in a matter of seconds with literally zero effort on your part (other than checking the appropriate options and clicking "ok"). (or, if you prefer command lines, you can use the python script directly instead). look in the ebookwise forum, in the stickies.
alternately, i bet you nick would do the conversion for you himself, if you ask him nicely. he's the imp god around here.
