I'm also thinking about parents who have their share of health problems. My father's back is in really bad shape, so there's a chance he won't be able to do stairs in the future. It would suck big time if that meant he wouldn't be able to come over, because he wouldn't be able to use the bathroom.
The toilet under the stairs is a good compromise, but we'd have to expand our house so the sitting area is further away from the kitchen before BF would be OK with it ...

A lot of people have advised me against it
We only have one toilet right now. Sometimes I get irritated when BF spends half an hour there and I really have to go. But I don't think it sucks that bad. Of course we only have the one floor right now. In our house the toilet would be on the first floor. Which would mean: little kids always have to go upstairs, visitors always have to go upstairs, if you're sitting in the garden you have to go upstairs, ... Maybe people will get annoyed.
I really want the second toilet, but I want the awesome kitchen even more! (I'll post a picture very soon
)
We have a storage room on the first floor, two more storage rooms and an extra room (could be a desk, library, second bathroom, ...) on the attic. So storage won't be a problem
Finished my first bottle of water of this day. On to the second!
