displaying first page or image without rule

Hi,

This only concerns epub without covers.

On the kobo, when I power it off, and on the "home" screen", I sometimes get a nice cover with author and title (the default kobo cover), and sometimes I get the ugly first page (usually too small to be read).

Weird that the same book, changes this way depending of my Kobo's mood.

Actually, one rule I might think of is: at first install of the book, I get the default (readable) cover, and at the next start up, I get the first page.

Is there a rule ? Is there a way to always have the cover made by Kobo using metadata, and never have the first page.

Thank you for any hint.

François
