I would, of course, encourage everyone to buy or borrow their ebooks legally. (And given the vast quantity of quality ebooks given away for free or sold for very low prices in special offers, and the existence of ebook lending libraries, this shouldn't be a problem for anyone with access to a computer and the internet.)
But enriching criminals seems to be the very worst decision one could make on sourcing ebooks.
