Hi Nick, welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately I don't know anything about the Kobo original.
When did it start happening by itself? Did you change any settings, update anything? Does it occur only in the one book, or in all books? Just some extra info for in case someone comes along who does know about the Original. Also, do you restart often? For any particular reason? And if you do, do you go to the home screen first (exit the book), or just restart right from the book?
