I have a Kindle 4 NT. It is black. I have SSH on it. It is the one with Special Offers. I want to have custom screensavers on it.

As I mentioned I have SSH into the device and did the whole set of commands to get screensavers on it. Unfortunately I can get into diag mode fine and access the SSH fine but have an EXTREMELY hard time getting out of diag mode successfully. It was actually so hard that I had to use Kubrick and start over...

My question is this, before I try my hand at SSH and getting out of diag again, is it possible to get custom screen on the K4NT SO? I do get the advertisements from Amazon and even though I'm not a fan of it I've accepted that this is part of their business model and I'll have to learn to live with it. Given that I still get the SOs will it be possible to get custom screenies?

If it is possible then I'll try again (and again) if necessary. If the SO screens and the custom screens are mutually exclusive then I'll just stop trying this. Yes. I'm aware that I can pony up an extra $30 (right?) and get rid of the SOs but I'd rather not do that right now.

BTW. I'm a newbie to the Kindle area. I've been a member for a while and I have a PRS 350. I love the custom screens on that device... Thanks for the input.
