My understanding is that you need to be wary of putting the library on a networked device, so its something I've ignored. Besides I don't have a real need for it. See this in the Calibre Manual - I am getting errors with my calibre library on a networked drive/NAS?.

I believe Kovid and other developers are working on a multi-user network version of Calibre. There are some Web based gadgets - they're in the Calibre Related Tools section - that's all I know about them.

Ugh, this is good to know! You just saved me a ton of time troubleshooting. I guess I'll have to put it on my external HDD.

When I decide to move my library off the computer, do I just move the "Calibre Library" folder or should I make a new library on external disk and then "copy" all the files to it? I don't plan on keeping them locally so I'm wondering if I can just move them all.

Thanks again!
