Tor's art director is Irene Gallo. She's a splendid person and a wonderful AD. She has a blog
here. I am extravagantly fond of the work she's been doing for Tor.
Among other things, she's on the board at the
Art Director's Club, and got SFWA to hold its annual Author's and Editors event there. I worship at her feet for doing so, and told her. The only problem with holding the event at the ADC is distraction: it's hard to carry on conversations with folks when all you want to do is gawk at the stuff on the walls. Original paintings by Norman Rockwell, N.C. Wyeth, Arthur Rackham... If it's anybody in illustration, the ADC probably has some of their work, and periodically trot it out for exhibitions.
