As long as your ADE registration is the same. Safest thing is to do everything all from the same computer. I always use my laptop for my ebooks and connecting my Sony Reader. But I once made the mistake of downloading a Kobo book on my desktop, and was unable to load the ebook on my Reader. I only then realized that (because of a screwup a long time ago that was Adobe's fault), my ADE registration is different on both computers.

By the way, to Kobo's credit, when I explained the problem to them, they were gracious enough to let me do a fresh download of the same book, which I did on my laptop, and no problem.
