We cancelled our subscription when the porch had over a foot of snow on it, the driveway (where the newspaper-supplied paper box was attached to the side of the porch) was completely clear, and the paper was thrown onto the porch *two days in a row*. (They also did *not* replace the first day's paper when we called to complain, although they said they would.) We've been in our current house over 10 years, so that was probably 15 or more years ago.
(The paper deliverer before that one had a car and used to drive up to the newspaper box -- he could reach it from his car window!

Around the holidays, we'll get the paper so that the kids can have glossy ads to use for their wishlists, but we pretty much just depend on the morning news and the internet to keep us up to date.
