@mrmikel, not a Firefox user. Opera v 11, which IS sometimes a hog if lots of tabs are open.
@theducks, thank you for the suggestions. I have 2 GB ram, but will try the Checkdisk and see where I land. I know I don't have much hard-drive space left, and it may be time to move some files to an external drive.
