I noticed my kindle refreshes every page if I slide to turn the page, and if I just tap, then it refeshes every 6th page or so - didn't count, but I guess it's 6 if everyone says so.
edit: hmmm, scratch that, I just tried again now, and it's refreshing every 6th page no matter how I turn the pages... but I swear it was doing it before
