Evaporate is a strong word, maybe the better words would be non-cellular handhelds (thuogh still wireless handhelds) are declining in growth compared to cellualr handhelds. This is only true because as the different segments they are, cellular handheld havent met market saturation as have non-cellular PDAs have.

IMO, its just the evolution of computing usage amongst connected peoples.
