Watch out for the deadline for the Polari Prize for first book by an LGBT author resident in the UK. The judges particularly want more books by lesbian authors as it has been harder to get books by women than men, and this drew press and media coverage last year. The prize is £1,000 and one of the judges this year is V.G. Lee. The books can be in various forms, including poetry and fiction, and the winners do get well promoted. Although details aren't online yet, the details from last year will be much the same. There's also an email on this link for Paul Burston, the main organiser and LGBT editor on Time Out, so he can be contacted for more info. Books can be self published or traditionally published.
