The message did not lie to you:

Modules just built for KUAL:
Flags: 0x5000000, Version5 EABI

Modules that came with firmware-3.4:
Flags: 0x4000000, Version4 EABI

I can fix that (famous last words).



All fixed. Just used the compiler we have been recommending all along (from KeK pool).

Most likely the same problem that other people had trying to build user-land application code - compiler was not generating the expected EABI.
