Just an update, I did get an e-mail from my publisher last week, she said...

"Someone indicated it might be a font issue so I'm attaching 2 versions the first one I didn't check the "embed fonts" box and the second one (with 2 in the name) I did check the box. Perhaps one or the other will open for you in the other devices."

We checked both files and neither of them worked... same error of "dependency, group, or policy failed to start." Is this all that is needed to exclude embedded fonts in CS6?
