Right now I'm recovering from a fit of hysterical laughter. Not that my daughter is quite so sanguine about it as me...

Spoiler:
I left my 16 yo daughter home alone while I went to the bank. While I was out the phone rang and when she answered, someone (with a lot of background noise on the line) shouted at her "BASTARD!".

"What did you say?" says my daughter.

"BASTARD!...BASTARD!"

My daughter hung up, thinking it was one of the lads that have been ringing the house and pestering her 13 yo sister recently.

Five minutes later a very tall African man rang our door bell, and when she approached the glass panel in the door, he held up a note to the glass and shouted "BASTARD!" at her. Now rather worried, she glanced at the paper he was holding, and it all became clear as she read "BATH STORE". It was a delivery we had not yet been expecting of our new downstairs cloakroom sanitary ware. All's well that ends well, but I did return home to a slightly traumatised daughter. My hysterical laughter at her retelling of the tale didn't impress.
