Just finished Patricia Briggs' Cry Wolf (paper, on loan from a friend). Same universe as her Mercedes Thompson series, but different characters. I thought it was pretty good-- a bit "romancy" for my tastes, but still some pretty good character and plot development. I kept thinking that it was the second book in a series, because of references back to what had happened before the book started (though I think I wouldn't have wanted to read the first book, which is perhaps why the author didn't write it). Good if you like werewolves. If you're more into vampires, try the Mercy Thompson books. If you prefer urban fantasy without vampires, of course, you could hardly go wrong with Charles de Lint.
