interesting article here Versaware are running the library

"Waterstone's is taking a pioneering role in the United Kingdom for the sale of eBooks. This agreement will allow customers to search for e-Books at Waterstone's Online, then link to Versaware's website to place their order for Versabooks, the premiere electronic book format available today. In the future customers will be able to both search for and purchase e-Books through Waterstone's Online."

"We are excited that Waterstone's, the leading UK bookseller, has embraced the Versaware technology," said Sol Rosenberg, a co-founder of Versaware. "The combination of the Waterstone's brand with Versaware e-Book technologies will enable thousands of users to build their own libraries of electronic books."

Cant find much info on what versaware do or offer can anyone else? their website appaers to now work! www.versaware.com

EDIT: ah seems like versaware are at eBookCity.com

EDIT 2: stranger and stranger www.ebookcity.com is also junk even though the following article states
"The partnership is being launched with a special e-Books promotion. A link from www.waterstones.co.uk to eBookCity.com (Versaware's eBookstore) will enable customers to download Sams Teach Yourself Windows 98 in 24 Hours and Sams Teach Yourself to Create Webpages in 24 Hours on to their PCs or to read these titles in their own online library. If customers buy both books, they will also receive, free of charge, Sams Teach Yourself Microsoft Office 2000 in Ten Minutes. "
