The prices are about what people will pay, not what it costs.
In the UK, it costs £40 to go from 8GB to 16GB for a Nexus 4 or 7, but £70 for the same increase for a Nexus 10. Is that because it costs so much more? No, it is because that is what they think people will pay.
Does that mean a 1 Zettabyte iPad would cost $4099?
