a) Remove the magnet from your cover, or use a cover without the magnet.
b) It is not a "timeout" it is how fast the Linux OS can resume from "sleep" mode - Can your Windows OS resume that fast?
b) Same answer as (a) - then it will let you stare at your saved screen until you push the button (or bring a magnet close to the lower right corner of the bezel).
