I have been using Calibre for ages now and switched to Calibre Portable many months ago. I run Calibre Portable on an external HDD which I connect to my Toshiba Satellite Laptop at home or my Macbook air running Windows at the office.

Recently I am having problems (but only in the office, it is fine at home). When I attempt to open Calibre I get an error and it does not open. I have deleted Calibre and redownloaded to the HDD to no avail. How do I get this working again as I love to use this for my 6000+ books.

Any advice greatly appreciated, although I am not terribly technical and may require instructions for the dummies.
Where are the BOOKS?

Typically, Calibre portable is kept on the drive with the books. But it may be used in cases where 'install' rights are not available (work?), while the Library is in the users area..
