somewhat out of topic, but I am in Singapore too. While I love my PRS-505 to death (I use it to read every night), you might find its usefulness limited when it comes to reading university textbooks.
It's just too much hassle scanning, converting and preparing your text books for reading in the device -- and the nature of eInk device (slow page turning) makes it not very suitable either, as you'd want to rapidly flip between pages when reading textbooks.
That aside, i use it regularly to read technical (IT/math/science) PDF as well, just gotta be patient ...
edit: quite a few other owners of sony reader in the hwz forum, you might want to put up your ads there as well
