I was shocked to see that I might have missed the Feb Asimov's and March Analog. So I signed up for a trial subscription at Amazon.

Only to find that neither subscription will work with my iPhone. A chat conversation with technical support confirmed that Analog and Asimov's are only available for Kindle on iPad or iPod Touch and nothing else not even Kindle on iPhone.

Chat in spoilers:
Spoiler:
You are now connected to Raj Kumar from Amazon.co.uk.
Me:Yesterday I ordered subscriptions for Asimov's Science Fiction and Analog Science Fiction and Fact magazine. Unfortunately, I mistakenly selected my old iPod Touch for the delivery device instead of my current iPhone. So I got in touch with customer support, who deleted my old iPod device and said they'd switch the subscription to my new device, and manually sent the most recent issue.
I do have one of the magazines on my iPhone. I think I must have accidentally cancelled the download of the other.
But in my account page "Subscription Settings" both subscriptions are showing "No valid devices found for subscriptions", and in my "Your Kindle Library" page, the action buttons next to the subscription only show "Cancel Subscription".
I hope that you can arrange it so that my subscriptions are now to my iPhone, so that I can download the current and previous issues.
Raj Kumar:Hello, my name is Raj. I'll be happy to help you today.
Me:Hi Raj. My first post explains ecerything, I hope, so I'll wait while you read and check.
Raj Kumar:Thanks for waiting.
Me:If you have any questions, do ask. I'll wait while you investigate.
Raj Kumar:I've resent the latest issue to your Iphone.
Please check and let me know.
Me:It looks like it's trying to sync at the moment. I have the Analog (April 2013) but not the Asimovs (March 2013). It's still got the sync icon going at the moment.
The sync icon (rotating circle of dots) stopped with no Asimov's, so I quite the Kindle app and restarted it. It's going again now.
No, sync has stopped (and there's doesn't seem to be a manual "sync now" button. But it's not really getting the current issue immediately that's worrying me.
It's that my subscription settings aren't showing my iphone as a subscription device for Asimov's and Analog
But my iPhone is the device for my Fantasy and Science Fiction subscription (which I've had for quite some time now.)
If we could get my subscription settings sorted out, I should be able to send the issue manually to my iPhone myself.
Raj Kumar:Ok.
A member of our Kindle Specialist team will need to help you with this. Please hold while I transfer you. One of our Kindle representatives will assist you shortly.
Me:Thank you.
A Customer Service Associate will be with you in a moment.
You are now connected to Sravanthi from Amazon.co.uk.
Me:Hi Sravanthi, Can you see the previous chat text?
Sravanthi:Hello, I will be happy to help you today. Please wait while I go through your previous conversation.
Me:Thanks. I'll wait.
Sravanthi:I'm sorry to inform you that Asimov's Science Fiction is available only for:
Kindle for iPad (Version 2.9 or later)
Kindle for iPod Touch
Hence, you will not be able to download it on your iPhone.
Me:How extraordinary! Unfortunately, I don't have either of those devices at the moment.
Is it possible to cancel by trail subscriptions such that if I do get one of those devices in the future
I will still be able to sign up for a trial subscription?
Sravanthi:lease note that our free 14 day trial period for Kindle subscriptions is limited to once per customer and once cancelled, cannot be renewed.
Please*
Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Me:Oh dear.
Could you raise the issue of availbility on iPhone with whoever's responsible for that?
It seems very odd that it should be available on iPod Touch but not on iPhone.
Sravanthi:Sure. I'll forward your comments to the Kindle Development team. We are working hard with the publishers to make the Kindle content available on more devices.
Me:Thanks. Does the same apply to the Analog subscription? I suspect it does.
Sravanthi:Yes. It does. You can check the compatibility on the product details page under "Available on these devices" section.

Me:Thanks. I'm afraid it never occurred to me that the subscriptions would be so limited, so I didn't check.
Well, I think that's answered all my questions. Thank you for your help.
Sravanthi:You're welcome. Thanks for visiting Amazon.co.uk. Have a nice day.
Me:Bye.
Sravanthi:Bye.

In the course of a telephone chat yesterday, a support chap did try manually sending the latest issue, and I did receive April Analog on my iPhone, so I can confirm that the Amazon issue do have DRM applied.

Off to B&N, I think!
