Seems like you killed your Kindle by whatever you tried to do in the first place.
If it still shows up as a USB drive (even if only for a few seconds) while booting, try downloading the official 5.3.1 update and putting it there. Alternatively, put the ENABLE_DIAGS file back there and see what you can do from diags. Good luck!
