And men have even more difficulties multi-tasking. For example, it's extremely hard to watch a football game and hear the wife/girlfriend/parents at the same time.
But this is not a "bug" in our system, it's a feature. We can concentrate more than women.
Back to topic, I agree that instant brain dump may be very useful for many things, but not for leisure reading. One thing is to enjoy the journey, another is to recall/remember it.
About virtual models reading stories for us... Would they have to create a special model that could read properly?
