The ability to concentrate to that degree is nothing to belittle. I had a friend once who could do that - to the exclusion of all else (i.e. he tuned everything else out). I can't do that. I've tried. One day I was telling his wife how I envied him that ability. She, "That's funny. He envies your ability to both think
and remain aware of what's going on around you."
We always think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence and don't see what we already have. Her reply was an eye opener to me.
