Oh boy, I can picture a far future, where a criminal could be condemned to perpetual dumbness: a complete brain wipe, except the minimum necessaru to breathe, eat, drink, crap and follow orders.
Or more complex features, like "forgetting" a certain ex-girlfriend or mother-in-law's existence.
