After a good long time with my Kindle Paperwhite I really only have two standout wishes:
- Let me change the default PDF contrast. I always change the contrast to darkest on every PDF I read and I think it would be awesome to have that set by default.
- Let me change the spacing between items in list mode. I use list mode exclusively, but I think it would be nice to get a few more items on screen. I'm sure the existing spacing is scientifically formulated by Amazon based on average finger size or something, but I'd love to change it.

This really should have been posted in the Developer sub-forum. It is much more likely to get any changes hacked in than to wait for Amazon to do it for us - as in wait until hell freezes over. Changing the spacing on the list view is going to be a major headache - and more than likely wasted effort. That is, if it is even possible (doubt it). At least not in a feasible way. Amazon is very good at not letting anyone else have access to default settings, features and such (please note my sour / sarcastic tone in that sentence). Even the things that are more easy to reach and changeable require a needless amount of work. The documentation is excellent in a way that it doesn't even have any mistakes, because in general
it doesn't exist.
Probably not what you wanted to hear, but there is ways to be just fine with the limit of 8 items in list view (or 7 on the homescreen for the special offers version). One way to go around is structuring your books more. If you install the
Collection Manager it lets you nest collections. The other way to go around it is what Harry does. He is not using ANY collections and has everything in a flat structure and uses the search to quickly go around (plus the way he organizes titles and authors).
