Create Metabook with only Metadata?

Hi!
I seldom get around to connect my reader to my PC, so when I do, i put lots and lots of books/texts/... on it, just in case...
Recently i keep finding myself not actually knowing what all the books I put on there are actually about. Seeing how my Sony PRS-T1 can't display all metadata (esp. comments), this makes deciding what to read next a bit annoying...
So I thought it would be nice to have a "metabook" who's content essentially is just a list of the books on the device with the associated metadata. Is this possible? I guess I could use one of the catalog tools, but this seems like it might be not be easy to automate, seeing how always storing the whole library would be to much and this metabook should be updated whenever the content of the reader is changed (or something like that)
