I travel a lot, and hardly ever a Hilton.
First thing in the room. Put your bags in the tub but not on the carpet or a cushioned seat.
Go to the bed and pick the mattresses up and shine a bright LED flash up under them. Look for streaks. Adult bugs are about size of apple seeds.
Put the flash into the crevices.
The hotel/motel people claim to be very surprised when you find something.
