Kindle PW WiFi w/SO (KPW) Compared to Kindle3(3G) (K3)
As I posted a while ago, my K3's keyboard was making intermittent crunchy sounds on the most-used keys. When it occasionally sounded really bad, the keys wouldn't function. For Xmas, therefore, I asked Santa for a new KPW.
There really isn't much to report:
1) The PW is smaller and lighter (duh!).
2) The front-light works.
3) I don't seem to have any screen colors.
4) Yes, you can discern the little shadows between the bottom-edge LEDs. No, I can't think of any reason that should matter.
5) It seems a little faster.
6) The capacitive touch screen works OK.
7) No, you can't turn the page one-handed in a lot of positions. I'm afraid I still prefer page turn buttons.
I did get an SO version. The annoying screen-savers now show ads. Meh.
I don't see a fundamental change in the nature of the Amazon eco-system. Comparison photos are attached.

Jack Tingle
