As mentioned elsewhere, I have been going to buy the Chambers Dictionary, on Harry's recommendation, for some time. I just never got a round tuit. Well, in the interim, I've been wanting Harraps Shorter French-English dictionary, and, again upon Harry's recommendation (hmm, I might have to put HarryT on my Ignore list for the sake of my credit card), I wanted the Penguin Deluxe version of Homer's The Odyssey.

So, buying them one at a time (I'm not a Fictionwise member), I bought the dictionary, got the Micropay rebate, which allowed me to get the French-English Dictionary, whose Micropay Rebate, on top of the Chambers leftovers, let me get The Odyssey.

In my situation, the Micropay Rebate was perfect. I got the second two books effectively for free. Of course, now there's also a small Micropay balance burning a hole in my virtual wallet at Fictionwise...so I guess they know what they're doing.

Still, I'm pretty stoked. The Chambers Dictionary, on initial purview, looks well-worth the money, as does (unsurprisingly, considering their common origin) the French-English dictionary, and the "Deluxe" version of The Odyssey is as HarryT reviewed as well.

Good deal all up, I reckon. I'm one very happy chappie.

Cheers,
Marc
