1/ Nope. A giant PITA on the 3, and out of my skill set anyway. Use LP/Kite there. Use the GUI Launcher on a Touch. If the *three* letters required to toggle it on a PW are too much, I'm not sure there's anything more I can do for you .

2/ Nope again. I actually rely on the defaults (for various reasons, one of them being it works nicely across all the supported devices, and another being that the nopasswordchk switch somewhat eases the first time setup, and is actually much more important since 5.3. And enabling it over WiFI is still a huge NO, it'd mean leaving a giant hole open to the world, because it simply bypasses the password check, so, while there might indeed be a root password set and while it might be derivable from the SN, it doesn't enter the equation. ).

(In case that wasn't clear: when WiFi is diabled, dropbear bypasses the password check.)
