I don't contact Kobo when I have issues with the Kobo app on my iPad unless they are problems with the Kobo app itself. The LookBook is not, to the best of my knowledge, a Kobo product so expecting Kobo to supply much in the line of tech support is risible.
However, Sameer from Kobo posted some information in another thread in spring 2012 about the LookBook. As far as I recall, he stated that the LookBook should automatically update to version 1.9 of the firmware when connected to a wi-fi device. One other suggestion that it was also updated when connected via USB to a computer running the Kobo desktop application. Evidently, you need to be on 1.9 at least before you can sideload epubs/PDFs and see them from the reader.
I think that a search on LookBook in the forum search should find the original message.
